CORRECTION REGARDING CONTINUING EDUCATION: The article, Continuing Education
in Virginia, which was published in the VIRGINIA BOARD OF DENTISTRY BULLETIN
in the Summer 2002 Edition, failed to explain that only dentists may carry
forward credits for continuing education from one year to the next as discussed
in the article. Dental hygienists are not allowed to carry forward credit
from one year to the next. The Code of Virginia expressly requires dental
hygienists to obtain 15 hours of continuing education annually.
