MEDICATION AIDE REGISTRY UPDATE
Registration with the Board of Nursing is now required for Medication Aides working in Assisted Living Facilities.
Regulations for the registration of medication aides working in ALFs are effective 8/1/2009!!
As of August 1, 2009, registration with the Board of Nursing as a medication aide or licensure in Virginia as a nurse is now required to pass medications in an ALF in Virginia.
Instructions and forms for applying for registration are now available on our website on the Forms and Applications page under Medication Aide. The practice and supervision of registered medication aides may also be viewed on our Laws and Regulations page.
